bye bye Lobster...

oh my god! what a day i had today...well it all started at work, when i went to the prep board and next to my name i found "breakdown, cook 25 # of lobsters"...

ughhh... i thought.

I don't want to do this... they are so slimy...lol... that's all i could say to describe them... (psss...even though i lovveee to butcher meat!... lobster? ehhh...they are still alive!)

but i love my lobster friends... i always had to have a little chat with them, before sending them off to the boiling hot water of doom!

but this time, i had to say goodbye in another way.

from the past i always watched how my chefs would break down a lobster...yeah easy...
1: squeeze...2: twist...3: plooop... done!

yeah... right!

well, ok, i did it... had a 4-hundred hotel pan of live lobster (1 pounders) in front of me, all on top of each other, shining in the light...probably pray for dear God.

i grabbed one...squirmin' in my hand...i took a claw and broke it right off!

in my head i said a thousand sorries... and even out loud as i dropped one to the floor!

tryin' to walk away i picked it up... turned my head away from the lobster in front of me... and... twist!

twisted off the tail... threw it in one hotel pan, and the head in another and the claws in another. i did this 25 times... pleading sorry to the poor lobster and God for forgiving me...

after i was done, i show chef what i have done... and you know what he said?

why are they still alive?

me: but...but i though you do it that way.

chef: lol...no, i kill them first (meaning takin' the knife and cutting through the head first... so that they die immediately without suffering for a long time)

uhhhhhhh... i suck. i couldn't imagine doin' one, and i did 25... now that sux.
